American Lawman

Please can I have some help from any Americans here?
My mother is elderly and is not able to get around too well any more. Ever since she was little girl she has loved Westerns and all of her heroes are the lawmen, bandits and desperadoes of the old west (fictional and real). As she grew up she learned more about what the old west was really like and liked it just as much as it was portrayed on all the old B&W epics, and not a week goes by when she doesn’t spend her Saturday afternoons in front of the TV watching the old re-runs.
My family never really had enough money to travel a lot but I now have saved up enough to take her on a two-week long holiday to the States (we’re British).
I’d like to know where I can take her to see some of the sites that were an an integral part of the old west, or where the natural scenery remains unchanged to a degree; any ideas?
Also I have heard about whole towns where the old west lives on as re-enactments- are these as good as they sound.
I just want to give her the time of her life.
Alot of the westerns were made in Tucson Arizona. They offer tours and it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

Blazing Saddles (30th Anniversary Special Edition) $3.00 Hollywood Westerns were never the same after director/co-writer Mel Brooks put them through the comedy wringer with this tasteless, hilarious spoof. With Gene Wilder, Harvey Korman, Madeline Kahn as Lili Von Shtupp, and Alex Karras as the horse-punching Mongo. 93 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); S… |

Blazing Saddles [Blu-ray] $7.00 Mel Brooks scored his first commercial hit with this raucous Western spoof starring the late Cleavon Little as the newly hired (and conspicuously black) sheriff of Rock Ridge. Sheriff Bart teams up with deputy Jim (Gene Wilder) to foil the railroad-building scheme of the nefarious Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman). The simple plot is just an excuse for a steady stream of gags, many of them unabashedly… |
